The 2024 Reflections Cadet Cup, our first time hosting a major surf event alongside our friends at Surfest Newcastle, was held at Rainbow Beach, Bonny Hills on the 10th and 11th of February, attracting the hottest teen surfing talent in Australia.

We are the largest holiday group in NSW with parks based on some of the best surfing beaches in Australia, so we love to support local surfing talent and connect communities in these amazing locations. We will continue to nurture the talent of young surfers and support the growth of this top sport throughout regional NSW.

76 surfers took to the waves over the two days of fierce competition in Under 12s, Under 14s and Under 16s categories. A $3900 prize purse was divided among the winners who included:

  • Maverick Macgugan (North Avalon) - Under 12 Boys
  • Coco Woolley (Boomerang Beach) - Under 12 Girls
  • Hamish Harrigan (Coffs Harbour) - Under 14 Boys
  • Mali Adam (Merewether and Port Macquarie board clubs) - Under 14 Girls
  • Joey Silk (Crescent Head) - Under 16 Boys
  • Chelsea Darling (Hat Head) - Under 16 Girls

Connecting Local Communities

“As the largest holiday group in NSW, partnering with Surfest, the biggest surfing festival in the Southern Hemisphere, was a no-brainer, given both of us are focused on enjoying the great outdoors and helping to connect communities in nature,” Reflections CEO Nick Mr Baker

"The Reflections Cadet Cup drew a highly competitive field in the teen ranks and witnessed history in the making with the surf talent at Rainbow Beach. The whole weekend was a fantastic showcase for these young surfers who will be tomorrow’s champions, and the night-time entertainment on this most wonderful stretch of the NSW coastline was the icing on the cake,” Surfest co-ordinator Warren Smith.
