Evans Head Managers Scott and Katie are firm believers that life often takes you in some funny and unexpected places, but say that landing in the beautiful coastal town has been a dream in itself.
“In 2013 we moved from the small town of Echuca on the NSW/Victorian border, leaving our family and friends behind,” Katie said.
“After living in Newcastle for 3 years with our kids Jai and Holly we were offered our positions at Evans Head which immediately intrigued us, though I must admit we had to do a sneaky Google search!
“We actually ventured to Evans Head the very next day and haven’t looked back since. Our impression of this town is of peace and simple pleasures, and it’s been the perfect place to live, work and raise our young family.”
Evans Head may be a small village, but Scott and Katie certainly look after a big park. With more than 600 sites spread over 26.5 hectares, this is one of the largest parks in NSW.
“At the start it was a bit of a shock as we quickly noticed that the park is busy all the time,” Scott said.
“After speaking to guests, we soon realised that Evans Head holds many decades of family holiday traditions – the history it holds is undeniable. We were quick to learn that this laidback town really is a hidden gem and needs to be respected for what it is.”
Scott and Katie are strong believers that camping holidays are the best way to bond with your family and work hard to ensure all guests leave with happy, long lasting memories of their time away.
“Some of our own best family memories come from holidays in the van with our own children. It’s so easy to park the van, pull out the awning, open the esky and watch the kids run around,” Katie said.
“Our personal park motto is ‘bring the kids and furry friends and start creating memories’”.
