Originally from New Zealand, and with former careers in farming and teaching, Aaron and Deb’s introduction to park management could be described as a ‘baptism by fire’.
“We were thrown in the deep end at an enormous park in Sydney, but it was a fantastic experience, and we fell in love with the industry right away,” said Deb.
To an outsider, their former careers are a world away from Reflections Holiday Parks Lennox Head, which they have managed since 2008. However, Deb sees plenty of similarities.
“Teaching and park management are both smiley-faced jobs; you’re keeping the people in front of you happy; whether that’s children, parents or tourists. And farming sets you up with the skills to use machinery, do maintenance, and help with capital works,” she explained.
So when it comes to smiley-faced jobs, Deb has plenty to smile about.
“When you see the happy faces on your customers it makes all your work worthwhile,” she said.
She and Aaron also smile about living in such a lovely part of the NSW North Coast.
“Lennox Head has got everything you need, but without the craziness of a big city. You can dine in exquisite restaurants with A+ food, and still be in your singlet and thongs!”
When it comes to her favourite thing about Lennox Head Holiday Park, Deb can’t go past the laidback atmosphere.
“It’s all about the feeling you get. You walk in the gate and you just go ‘aaahhhh’; you breathe out. It doesn’t matter what the weather is doing; people just love being here,” she said.
The healthy lifestyle of Lennox Head adds to the relaxed mood of the village.
“Lennox is a healthy town, full of good food, natural therapies, everything within walking distance, and a temperate climate. It’s made for looking after yourself, both inside and out.”
Isn’t it time you looked after yourself? Book your stay at Reflections Holiday Parks Lennox Head and make your well-being a priority.
