Fishing at Lake Glenbawn is a popular pastime and offers numerous opportunities to catch a variety of fish species. The freshwater lake is teeming with Golden Perch, Rainbow Trout, Silver Perch, Murray Cod, Catfish and Redfin in the warmer months and offers excellent fishing all year round. Bring your boat, or simply fish from the side of the lake, be sure to pick up an NSW recreational fishing licence before setting off on your adventure along the dam wall.

Hiking Trails

Lake Glenbawn State Park has some of the most beautiful walking trails in New South Wales. With scenic views over the lake and Hunter River, stunning wildflowers and abundant wildlife, exploring the area by foot is an incredibly rewarding experience. Walk the foreshore, the dam wall, or along other signposted trails of varying lengths and difficulty levels in the park that can be enjoyed by all ages.

Power boating is also allowed on the lake (near the boat harbour), however a speed limit of 10 knots per hour must be observed to protect visitors and wildlife from danger.

Visit Scone Golf Club

Scone Golf Club is located just a few minutes from Lake Glenbawn and offers an 18-hole championship golf course. The club has recently undergone extensive renovations, resulting in an improved layout that is suitable for players of all skill levels. After a game, enjoy the spectacular views over the lake and countryside from the clubhouse before sampling some delicious fare at the onsite restaurant.
