Financial Accountant

We currently have an opportunity to join our Newcastle office in the role of Financial Accountant. This Full Time, Fixed Term (minimum 10 months – maternity leave coverage)  role includes management and financial reporting, fixed asset and project accounting, systems and business support.  Your technical skills paired with a can-do attitude will ensure your success, producing highly accurate information, meeting deadlines and reporting requirements.

In this role, you will:

  • Assist in completing monthly accounting functions to ensure that deadlines and timetables are met.
  • Engage in the development of a business intelligence analysis tool, including revenue, occupancy, labour, etc.
  • Lead the preparation of annual financial statements and year end audit processes in accordance with both GPFRs and NSW Treasury requirements.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders regarding financial reporting and related compliance matters.
  • Monitor and assist in the development and review of financial management systems and accounting policies and procedures.
  • Review project costing and maintain ledgers including asset disposals, impairment and/or reviews of remaining life.

Assistant (Undergraduate) Accountant

We currently have an opportunity to join our Newcastle office in the role of Assistant Accountant. Part of a supportive and friendly finance team, this full time role is ideally suited to a 2nd Year Commerce student, and will provide on-the-job learning opportunities, and access to career development.

In this role, you will:

  • Prepare Bank and Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Assist your colleagues by performing entry level accounting functions
  • Undertake BAS preparation
  • Assist with monthly reporting
  • Receive comprehensive support and work across the finance team, including payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
