An easy drive from Port Macquarie and just next door to Laurieton and Camden Haven, Reflections Holiday Parks North Haven is the ideal base for exploring the national parks burrowed within this lovely part of the NSW mid-north coast.
Here are some of our favourite national parks experiences in the North Haven area.
Watch the whales
Grab the binoculars and venture to one of the nearby headlands to watch the whales on their annual migration (May – November). Perpendicular Point in the nearby Kattang Nature Reserve (just across the inlet in Camden Haven) is a renowned spot to see these mighty mammals.
Queens Lake Nature Reserve
Nestled amongst towering eucalypts and lush rainforest, Queens Lake Nature Reserve is a heavenly lakeside haven for koalas and wildlife. Bring a picnic, a towel, a fishing rod or even a boat and wile away a pleasant afternoon at the Queens Lake picnic area.
Sea Acres Rainforest Centre
A visit to the Sea Acres National Park is a must-do in Port Macquarie, along with its award-winning Rainforest Centre - complete with displays, events and a gift shop. The Rainforest Café, nestled amidst a grove of bangalow palms, is a beautiful spot for a light meal or coffee.
North Brother Mountain
Feeling energetic? Then head across to North Brother Mountain. Situated in the Dooragan National Park, the Laurieton track is challenging but the views from the summit are well worth it. Those who prefer a less strenuous outing will equally enjoy the stunning Rainforest loop.
Crowdy Bay National Park
Don’t let the name put you off … you’re unlikely to find any crowds at Crowdy Bay National Park, just down the road from Camden Haven. Stroll through the rainforest and enjoy the scenic views from the Crowdy Gap Walking Track then enjoy a picnic at the Abbey Creek picnic area.
