Burrinjuck Dam Fishing

Burrinjuck Dam is known in the region for its great fishing opportunities. It supports agriculture across the Murrumbidgee River and is the main source of water under the Murrumbidgee irrigation scheme.

Boating and fishing are popular pastimes in the area, with a variety of native fish species such as Murray Cod, Golden Perch, Silver Perch, Rainbow Trout, and yabbies to be caught. You'll need an appropriate license from NSW Fisheries before you can start catching them along the dam wall.

You can conveniently fish in the area from the Burrinjuck Waters Holiday Park complete with fish cleaning facilities and boat ramps for easy access. There's also a wharf for visitors to use for fishing and swimming. Fishing in the major dam area is best with a Burrinjuck Dam fishing map.

Burrinjuck Waters Walking Trail

Burrinjuck Waters is home to an extensive network of bushwalking trails, ranging from easy walks around the lakeshore to more challenging hikes through gorges and into pine forests. Visitors can also enjoy a range of wildlife along the way, including wallabies, kangaroos, platypus, and various bird species.

If you're looking for a longer hike, you can walk the entire Burrinjuck Trails Network that stretches from Burrinjuck Waters State Park to the other side of the Carrolls Creek Walking Track. This easy track in the NSW Southern Tablelands Region takes you across sites around Lake Burrinjuck and Carrolls Creek, through the Hume and Hovell Walking Track.

The Burrinjuck Waters Holiday Park also has many amenities and hosts activities for park visitors. From a communal firepit, to two playgrounds and tennis courts, there's many things to do out and about at Burrinjuck Waters Holiday Park. During the school holidays, there are also child-friendly activities planned by the holiday park to help the little ones enjoy their time.
