Take advantage of the calm bay
Shaws Bay was formed when the northern wall of the Richmond River was constructed near the river entrance, creating a beautiful tidal bay in eastern Ballina, it's a peaceful recess from the nearby beach and river, featuring disabled parking bays and gently sloping beaches.
Take a stroll along the foreshore walk, which offers stunning views of the water and surrounding scenery, or rent canoes and paddle around the calm waters of the bay and down the nearby river.
