After fifteen years living in Far North Queensland and other exotic places, Helen returned to her home town of Pambula to spend more time with her family. With Robyn and John at Reflections Holiday Parks Eden also taking on the park at Pambula, they were ecstatic for Helen to take the day-to-day reins at the park, with her wide knowledge of the area making her a valuable source for guests exploring the surrounding Sapphire Coast.
“Pambula is all about natural beauty. I’m passionate about national parks and beaches and it seems the people who stay here are after that as well. It’s very easy to fall in love with the natural charm of the place,” said Helen.
“Pambula is like an undiscovered gem of the Sapphire Coast. It is a small country town situated between Merimbula and Eden, so if you want the hustle and bustle it’s only a short drive away. A stone’s throw from Pambula’s main street, the park is a great base for exploring the cafes, hotels and boutique stores found in the bustling little town.
The relaxed atmosphere and community feel of Pambula is also part of the attraction for Helen.
“Pambula is essentially a quiet country village surrounded by larger and busier tourist towns, and it couldn’t be more different. Even at Christmas, we don’t get the traffic, and our visitors get a lovely tranquil experience which means they leave here feeling chilled and relaxed,” she said.
One of Helen’s favourite places is down at the river mouth, where the estuary goes out to the ocean. With the backdrop of Ben Boyd National Park, the contrast of red rock and green ocean, and with sea eagles soaring overhead, it truly is a site to behold.
“My feeling is Pambula is a bit of a hidden secret, one that’s just about to be discovered. This is especially the case when it comes to our local food producers, who are gaining quite the reputation for their high-quality wares,” she said.
From bush walks and surf breaks to oysters and fine meals, Helen’s knowledge of the local area, coupled with her laid-back, friendly attitude, is sure to make for memorable coastal holidays for visitors to Reflections Holiday Parks Pambula. Best to book in before the secret gets out!
